Welcome Clarence and Jim!

We are pleased to welcome Jim and Clarence the Frenchie to the St. Rocco community!

Jim and Clarence will add a respite to the heavy topics which this site contains.

We are so grateful that they are willing to join us in our efforts, and show us thru little Clarence and
his rescued, Northern CA brother, senior boxer, T.J.; and sister, senior boxer, Molly (and sadly the late Cash)-
the good, the funny, the witty, the sweet, the free and the rescued.

Clarence had some health issues and is feeling better now!

You can follow Clarence on Instagram and here on St. Rocco Foundation.

Molly and TJ enjoying the sunshine. Just think… these two lovely souls were left at kill shelters, just “thrown away.”

Howie

Freedom pic – out of the gas facility!

This is Howie. Howie was about to be gassed to death in a high kill shelter in Utah. An SRF member had noticed his pleading face, read the small letters which mentioned, just like that, a “gas chamber,” and called her SRF friends, whom together, rescued little senior Howie. One of our members in Utah drove six hours, all together, to get Howie from the shelter, in the very last moment and get him to Four Paws rescue group in Utah, who agreed to take the treatment of little Howie from that point on. Howie was diagnosed, thanks to Four Paws care for him with Cushing disease. Howie was adopted to the best of homes and is living the good life today. However, it wasn’t a nice or easy rescue operation, nor an evident one. Working with people who gas dogs to death is part of what we do. We cannot do this without your help. Please donate today to St. Rocco Foundation, so we can rescue more dogs like little Howie, and build our enterprise, 100% dedicated to these forgotten dogs.

Howie - Given a Second Chance at Life - In His Green Bandana

Howie- turns out kill facilities still gas dogs to death. Howie was rescued by SRF members and was then delivered to Four Paws rescue in Utah.

What is a Human Problem?

A letter from a member…

What is a human problem? My feeling is that anything which threatens humanity is a human problem. Our humanity is truly shown when all life is valued, not just human life. Also when agape (unconditional love) and conscience guides us to do the right thing, fight for our convictions and care and protect the most innocent and voiceless among us.

I look into the future with hope that we will do better for our animal companions. I see a collective conscience coming together to make the lives of our animal companions full of understanding, love and happiness, their lives having value and in turn enriching ours. Humanity once again made whole!

As I see it, as humans it is our mission to work towards the protection of all life. Our conscience being the bind that connects us together and driving us to this wonderful goal. Also, to do our best to repair the problems we as humans created.

Through inspirational people and their actions we are driven to change for the better, we learn, we grow, we unite we inspire and support each other. What’s more powerful than that? The amazing Maya Angelou once said “When you know better, you do better.”

As I sit here writing this, I look at the little faces of my pups all nestled close and in my heart of hearts I know I would do anything for them. In turn each of them shows me unwavering love and support, only wanting me to be happy. I see different personalities, their clever souls always making me smile and laugh! Clearly they have this humanity thing down!

Together we can create something amazing! I just know it!

Many blessings, Doug
