St. Rocco foundation is dedicated to saving the lives of all dogs.
However, it is well known that certain breeds are in mortal peril when they arrive at animal services shelters – the Pit Bull.
SRF also see its obligation in doing all it can to rescue Pit Bull type dogs, and make them go out of the high-kill shelters alive. We have managed to do it more than once, in several states. This dog was literally taken off the kill table in a high-kill facility in Florida, where 50 dogs are killed per week – a common practice and numbers in all the high-kill facilities across the nation. Please see his face as he is sitting in the car, on his way to the life which were nearly taken from him – the kill facility walls are seen from the window…. You can also see the complete joy this dog feels, once away from the place who wanted to kill him. Pit Bulls are a common commodity in the breeding industry. However, in the destruction industry- out of 600 Pit Bull type dogs who enter the shelters, only one will come out alive, due to BSL* well-rooted policies of the no-kill opposition. Please donate today to St. Rocco Foundation so we can continue to rescue Pit Bull type dogs.
* Breed-specific legislation (BSL) is the blanket term for laws that either regulate or ban certain dog breeds.
